Second Chance is the show that eventually became Press Your Luck. Because no episodes save the pilot survived on tape, there isn't much that has been recalled about board changes. Because there was only one value per square, stripes are not used here. The total values presented in the Statistics Pane are low compared to PYL due to only having one value per square as opposed to three. So, for those that wish to compare board values, there is an adjustment in red next to each regular value -- the adjusted values are simply the regular (black) values tripled.
One interesting feature of the board is that, instead of having icons of each prize displayed during spins, unopened "gift boxes" were used. When a player hit one of these boxes, it would "unwrap" and reveal a photo of the prize won. (Technically, the box "morphed" into the photo. This morphing effect was also used on its sequel, Press Your Luck, but only to shuffle the spaces during a spin, never when a prize was hit.)

Pilot Episode (R1)
Round One on Second Chance was much bigger compared to PYL.Cash starts at 500 (not 100+S or 200) and goes to 1000 twice! The big cash square in [4] is worth 2500! Also take note of the 900 value in [8]: not once during the three years of PYL did a "9" ever appear in a cash slide. |

Pilot Episode (R2)
Once again, there is lots of cash on the board, ranging from 1000 to1500 (twice), 2500 in [12], and 5000 in [4]. Notice more unusual amounts: 1100 in [5], 1300 in [8]! |

Early Run (R2)
When the show went to air, an extra spin was added to [4] in orderto prevent any single player from becoming "unbeatable". A few values also got switched around: the big $2500 moved to [17], while $1400 made its move to [1], managing to keep its spot during the move to PYL. It seems likely that R1 would have had changes made as well, but there isn't a photo available for R1. * The prizes all had their bows changed to a cross-pattern, and were light bows on dark boxes. From the surviving B/W photo, it's hard to tell whether [10] was orange or yellow. |

*[4] was then converted to an eggcrate display changing betweenthe values 1000, 2000, 3000, 4000, and 5000. According to Charles Blaquiere, the sequence was 1000, 2000, 1000, 4000, 3000, 2000, 1000, 5000, 3000, 2000, 1000. |
